Windows, macOS & Linux.

Get the free, open-source SolidCraft desktop app from the official project. Choose your operating system below, then match the release asset to your processor and preferred package format.

Windows

Choose an MSI installer matching the system type shown in Settings → System → About. Use a portable ZIP if you prefer that format and the selected release supplies one.

Every download button opens official SolidCraft releases on GitHub. This lab does not host desktop installers. Check the selected release for available versions, architectures and installation notes.

Verify the official SolidCraft release

  1. Confirm the repository is tangency-labs/solidcraft and review the selected release notes.
  2. Match the asset to your operating system and processor. On a Mac, check About This Mac; on Windows, check System → About. A package for a different architecture may not run on your computer.
  3. Compare the downloaded file’s SHA-256 with the release’s SHA256SUMS.txt where supplied. Follow any signing or verification guidance in the official release.
  4. If your operating system warns about an unsigned app, verify the source and checksum before deciding whether to proceed. You can also use the browser editor.

If you are upgrading from 0.14.0 or earlier, download 0.15.0 or a newer release manually. The older in-app updater does not follow the project’s move to tangency-labs/solidcraft; the official 0.15.0 release notes explain the change.

Official release information checked 2026-10-18. This lab’s web editor is pinned to v0.15.0; the desktop release you select may differ.

TRY THE MODELING WORKFLOW FIRST

Use SolidCraft online without installing

The browser editor is a useful first step if you want to try sketching, dimensions and extrusion before installing. It runs the real SolidCraft WebAssembly application locally, requires no account, and includes two working sample designs.

Desktop CAD suits an installed workflow and access to upstream command-line or MCP tools. The browser workspace provides ordinary CAD editing without a hosted AI agent. Whichever workspace you choose, keep a native .solidcraft copy when you want to continue editing the feature history.

Try SolidCraft Online

Open a design after installing SolidCraft

Start a new design or download the First Parametric Block to check the basic workflow. The example is a 40 × 30 × 10 mm solid with an editable sketch and extrusion. Open it in the desktop application, inspect the feature timeline, and save your own copy before experimenting.

If you are moving from the web editor, download your native design first. A desktop installation cannot automatically see a browser’s private storage. Keep the original backup while checking that your sketches and features open as expected in the installed version.

File versions matter: the official v0.15.0 release uses design format 26, which does not open in version 0.14.x or earlier. The release compatibility notes explain this boundary. Check the notes for the versions you are moving between.
